Goodbye, Ghosts

Goodbye, Ghosts

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everybody who invested in receiving my writing and updates, images and ideas over the years. Ghost Dispatch was always a liminal space, a continuation of Liminal Bodywork and later Liminal Praxis: a little anonymous balcony where I could step out, look at my life from a sideways angle, and send dispatches from whatever threshold I was standing on. I'm grateful to everyone who met me there.

Over the last few years, life has demanded some brutal re-prioritizing: medical crises, financial precarity, grief, and rebuilding the basic scaffolding of a life. Ghost Dispatch and Studio EPB became holding containers while I tried to metabolize all of that in real time. Along with closing Ghost Dispatch, I'm also formally closing Studio EPB as a public-facing entity, at least in its current form.

Meanwhile, something new has been growing very quietly in the background. Over the past six months I've been slowly, deliberately building a medical advocacy practice under my government name, transforming years of illness and caregiving into work that helps other patients move through the system with a little more clarity and companionship. That's the world I'm moving toward now, drawn by what the system leaves unattended.

Our world has become one of increasing, unavoidable surveillance. This is very different from the sacred spaces of anonymity once found in places like NYC. I'm not ready to braid my worlds together with hyperlinks.

But if you'd like to stay connected as I move into this next chapter, you're very welcome to reach out to me directly, and I'll keep you in the loop as the new shape becomes more public.

As a small thank you for your patience and generosity (especially those of you who subscribed for a full year while my output was… sporadic at best), I'd love to send you a piece of the Esme/EPB archive as a parting gift—an image, a text fragment, a tiny artifact from this era. If that appeals, email me in the next few weeks with a mailing address or preferred format, and I'll put something together for you.

True to the spirit of the platform's name, I promise I'm not ghosting you; I'm just changing forms and letting this particular iteration rest. Instagram will stay up as a quiet archive for now, even as I shift my day-to-day attention elsewhere.

Yours, EPB
